In the March issue of JazzLife Magazine, a prestigious Japanese Jazz Magazine, we read an article dedicated to the new independent labels of International Jazz. A selection of 10 companies from all over the world chosen for the value and ambition of their productions. GleAM Records is among these 10 labels (the only Italian company selected) along with Cellar Live/Cellar Music/Reel To Reel, Edition Records, Greenleaf Music, moonjune Records, Moserobie Records, Posi-Tone Records, Pyroclastic Records, We Jazz Records, Whiriwind Records.

The article is edited by Kazune Hayata and also reports a couple of notable productions of 2022 for each record label. From our catalog have been selected albums “Evergreen” by the pianist Justin Salisbury and “Everyday Life” by the guitarist Edoardo Liberati.

“In recent years, the overseas independent label movement has been active. Almost every day, new productions are published by labels all around the world. However, the movement of independent labels is not necessarily new, and if you look back at history, Blue Note Records, the world’s leading Jazz label, was an extremely small business when it was founded in 1939. In this column, we would like to introduce some of the new labels that have demonstrated their uniqueness in recent years and are doing ambitious production activities.”
