Rought Line, the third album of the Italian pianist Angelo Mastronardi, is now available worldwide and in digital stores, produced by “GleAM Records” label.

After his second recording in quartet “NEW THINGS SAME WORDS” Angelo Mastronardi return to his Ideal setting, the piano trio, along with a new rhythm section, Rogers Anning (double bass) and Carmelo Miceli (drums).

“ROUGH LINE”reveals already in the title, a decisive and uncompromising imprint of the author.

His consolidated passion for rhythmic research and odd times is now blended with neo-soul influences, fast swing times and a more massive use of fender rhodes and, in some cases, synthesizers.

His melodic language now combines risk and spontaneity with harmonious research and a strong post-bop background.

The solos show a virtuosity in the language, until now not brought to light by the pianist. The recording includes 6 original compositions written by the italian pianist, the american popular song “All Things You Are” (J.Kern/O. Hammerstein II) and the standard “Oleo” (S. Rollins).
