Angelo Mastronardi

Angelo Mastronardi is an Italian pianist, composer & producer.
Self-taught since the age of six, in the mid-90s he studied piano at the N. Piccinni Conservatory of Bari.
In 2006 he graduated in Communication Sciences at the La Sapienza University of Rome. He attended the seminars of the “Tuscia in Jazz Festival” in 2012 with Aaron Goldberg, Donny McClaslin, Scott Colley and Antonio Sanchez.
In 2016 he followed the clinics of the Berklee College of Boston in Perugia with the American pianist Kevin Harris and was chosen the same year to perform at the Umbria Jazz Festival alongside the organist Dennis Montgomery III and the bassist Paul del Nero. H
e later perfected himself following the masterclasses of pianist Barry Harris at the Felt Music Club in Rome. He toured Italy and abroad (France, Austria, Australia, Spain, Switzerland) with his own project and as a sideman playing in the most important jazz clubs and venues.
In 2020 he graduated in Jazz Composition (1st Degree) at the N. Piccinni Conservatory of Bari with full marks. In 2022 he completed his studies in Jazz Composition (2nd Dregree) with full marks and a Mention of Merit for his research on Jazz and Serialism.
From his debut in 2014 with the piano trio album “Like At The Beginning (Dodicilune / IRD ED326) up to his most recent works, he has been appreciated for his compositional style, earning the JazzitLikes award! by Jazzit Magazine in 2015, 2017, 2020 and has been reviewed in the most important specialist magazines, from Musica Jazz to AllAboutJazz (NY), JazzEspresso and in newspapers such as Corriere della Sera by Fabrizio Versienti.
Two of his compositions have been included in the Italian Real Book published by the Italian Association of Jazz Labels together with the best authors of the italian contemporary jazz scene.
His last album MOBA wins the JAZZIT Awards 2021 among the best 100 albums in International Jazz. Since 2017 Angelo Mastronardi is producer & Label Manager of the JazzLabel GleAM Records.
